BIDEN SIGNS EXECUTIVE ORDER FOR A.I. SAFEGUARDS

CERCLE LAUNCHES TO ADVANCE WOMEN’S HEALTHCARE

Cercle, a new A.I. company focusing on women's healthcare, has launched its Biomedical Graphplatform, utilizing A.I. to transform billions of deidentified biomedical and genomics data points intostructured insights for researchers and healthcare providers. The platform, the first of its kind, addressesthe challenge of analyzing up to 80% of unstructuredmedical data. Partnering with Eurofins Genoma and USFertility, Cercle aims to enhance in vitro fertilizationoutcomes and success rates while addressing the datagap in women's healthcare, with plans to expand support across various women's health verticals.

Physicians will be able to develop targeted and personalized treatment plans for their patients leveraging Cercle, pushing fertility and women’s healthcare into the future.

NEW A.I. MODEL SUCCESSFUL IN IDENTIFYING PROSTATE CANCER RISKPROSTATE CANCERPROSTATE CANCER

According to a retrospective study published in European Urology Open Science, an A.I. deep learning model was found to be more effective in predictingnegative margins and focal treatment margins inresected prostate cancer specimens than conventional models. The A.I.-derived margins produced a meansensitivity of 96.9% compared to 37.4% for conventional Prostate Imaging Reporting and Data System regions of interest (ROI). Additionally, the A.I. model was more effective in reducing the extent of missed clinically significant prostate cancer.

This A.I.-driven approach can help to standardize focal treatment margins and reduce cancer recurrence rates, showing considerable promise for personalized medicine.

HIMS & HERS LAUNCHES MEDMATCH TO SUPPORT CLINICAL DECISIONS

Hims & Hers Health, Inc. has launched a new technology called MedMatch which leverages millions ofanonymized data points from millions of customers in real-time. MedMatch is initially being deployed forcustomers seeking support for anxiety and depression.The technology is designed to help providers identify the optimal treatment for a particular person byrecommending clinical decisions and treatmentsinformed by the collective knowledge of thousands of providers and millions of data points.

Developments in A.I. and machine learning continue to redefine treatement outcomes for patients across therapeutic areas.

PHILIPS’ LUMIFY RECIEVES ADDITIONAL $44.6M IN FUNDING

WOMEN’S HEALTH

Royal Philips has received an additional $44.6 million from the Bill and Melinda GatesFoundation, bringing total funding to $60 million for the global deployment of its AI enabled Lumify Ultrasound System. Initially granted$15.4 million in 2021, Philips developed the A.I. to aidfrontline health workers in identifying pregnancycomplications, particularly in underservedcommunities, with a successful trial conducted in Kenya. The new funding aims to expand global adoption

In a similar trend, GE Healthcare received $44 million from the Gates Foundation to develop AI enabled ultrasound applications, echoing efforts by other companies like Butterfly Network to leverage technology for maternal and fetal health in low and middle-income countries

JOHNSON & JOHNSON PARTNER WITH MAYO CLINIC TO DEVELOP A.I. ALGORITHM FOR CARDIOVASCULAR ABNORMALITIES

CARDIOLOGY

To address the challenge of early misdiagnosis in progressive diseases like pulmonary hypertension(PH) and cardiac amyloidosis, Johnson & Johnsoncollaborates with Anumana, Mayo Clinic, UltromicsLtd., and Atman Health to develop A.I. algorithms.These algorithms, integrated into the clinicalworkflow, analyze common diagnostic tests(electrocardiograms for PH and echocardiogramsfor cardiac amyloidosis) to detect subtle indicatorsinvisible to the naked eye. Both the PH and cardiac amyloidosis algorithms have received Breakthrough Device Designation from the U.S. FDA, potentially enabling earlier and more accurate diagnoses for timely patient treatment.

Numerous companies such as JnJ, NVIDIA, Pfizer, Sanofi and Roche are part of the race to develop A.I.-based technology for early disease detection, though no A.I.-tech has significantly advanced detection as of yet.
